Original quarter red cloth, color pictorial boards. Featuring 25 fantastic full page color lithographed plates that appear to be heightened with hand coloring, including Meggendorfer's self portrait at the end. Text in verse on the bottom margin of each page. Rear hinge cracked; a few tiny margin mends and marginal soiling, overall well preserved.

Folio (10 1/2 x 14"), cloth backed pictorial boards, except for a very few tiny margin mends and margin finger soil this is a bright near Fine copy. Featuring 25 fantastic full page color lithographed plates that appear to be heightened with hand coloring (pochoirs). The text in verse is on the bottom margin of each page. Several of the characters pictured are similar to those in some of his moveable books and on the last page Meggendorfer has pictured his self portrait. This is a rare and fantastic German picture book.
