Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. preface by author acknowledgements, Finding List, notes, a glossary of gun terms, bibliography and index. Illustrated frontispiece, showing American Indians using a very early gun. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white illustrations, line drawings and maps. Brown coloured cloth coloured boards with gilt coloured illustration to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A history of the gun/firearm in the early American frontiers. From the arming of the Indian through to small cannons. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the book corners. Shelfwear to the lower, book edges and browning and marking to the paper edges. Fading of the gilt writing of the front panel and spine. The cloth of the boards are also somewhat rubbed and marked. Previous owner has put a number of " 1268 " on the top right-hand corner of the free front endpaper. Rubbing and handling marks to the endpaper is and a few handling marks to the internal pages. This is the First USA Edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. XVI, 396 pages, last blank,. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
