Helikon, 1993. AC1 - A hardcover book SIGNED by Kozma Kálmán with "Best regards" written on the title page in very good condition in very good dust jacket. Dust jacket has some wrinkling, chipping and crease on the edges and corners, edges of the flaps trimmed, some scattered scratches and rubbing, light tanning and shelf wear. Book has some bumped corners, light discoloration and shelf wear. Includes a laid in business card of Kozma Kálmán (Brand Ambassador of Gundel). 11.25"x8.75", 73 pages. Satisfaction Guaranteed. Gundel is a well-known restaurant located in the Budapest City Park, Hungary. A previous restaurant in the spot, Wampetich, opened in 1894. In 1910, Károly Gundel took over the Wampetich's lease and operated the restaurant. His son János Gundel, who had learned the hospitality trade at other hotels and restaurants, took over the restaurant's management. He created a dramatic and luxurious style that increased its popularity and created an international reputation. In 1939, the restaurant did the catering for the Hungarian contingent at 1939 World's Fair in New York City. In 1949, the restaurant was nationalized and operated by the state company of the Hungar Hotels, but it was reopened by Americans Ronald S. Lauder and George Lang in 1992. Consultants Adam Tihany and graphic artist Milton Glaser assisted in its design. . Signed. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
