Hermosillo: El Secretario de Estado, Sonora, 1916. 8.5x12.75 inch sheet of official letterhead with typed text stating that the governor of the state of Sonora has granted permission to McReynolds to carry a firearm; dated April 6, 1916 and signed in pen by Enrique Moreno. Creased from folding; upper crease with short splits starting at the ends of the fold. McReynolds was later involved in espionage in Mexico to frustrate German designs on petroleum during World War I, as described in "La guerra secreta en México: Europa, Estados Unidos y la revolución Mexicana" by Friedrich Katz, p. 565.
