New York: Van Nostrand, 1867. First printing. Hardcover. Internally very good, binding holding.. Handsome little production, with very interesting maps. The map "1866 West Point and It's Vicinity" is a gem, including details on both sides of the river, including Garrison & Cold Spring, marking the Foundry and the Highland Hotel, which sat on the site of the Garrison School parking lot. Other locations include the Hudson River Rail Road, Robinson House, Garrison's, Indian (Ind.) Falls, Constitution Island, Cat Pond, Cold Spring and three ferry routes, one from Cold Spring to Trophy Point, and two from Garrisons, to West Point and Cozzen's hotel at Buttermilk Falls. Roads and Turnpikes are marked as well as numerous named ponds. Counties marked include Cornwall, Monroe, Phillipstown and Putnam Valley.
12mo, 105pp, (8) & 15pp ads, frontis ("Armstrong Gun from Fort Fisher") & 3 lithograph fold-out maps & plans. Blue gilt cloth, back cover detached, along with the last few leaves. The back board has residue of tape. Names on the front flyleaf are Solomon Lincoln Aug 31st 1868; Arthur & Francis Lincoln, West Point, Sept 22nd 1874, and Walter S. Sturgill, Nov. 24 1945.
