Full grey blue leather with gilt titles to banded spine and gilt design front and rear; all edges gilt; moire endpapers with matching ribbon page marker. Smyth sewing and concealed muslin joints; printed on archival paper. Limited edition of the 1949 Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction. A beautiful copy in mint condition. The Franklin Library Pulitzer Prize Series was a limited edition series of the 53 Pulitzer Prizes awarded to Novels from the first in 1918 through 1979. The series was published from 1975 to 1980. Synopsis
for the ceremonial guard see Guard of honour Guard of Honor is a Pulitzer Prize winning novel by James Gould Cozzens published in 1948. The novel is set during World War II, with most of the action occurring on or near a fictional Army Air Forces base in central Florida. The action occurs over a period of approximately 48 hours. The novel is chapterless in form, using three progressively longer parts entitled "Thursday", "Friday" and "Saturday".
