About This Item
London : Fisher, Son & Co., 1835. A dramatic antique print - a view of the grotto in the ancient woodlands of Castle Eden Dene - now a National Nature Reserve. Engraved by James Redaway (1797-1858) from an original study by the gifted Thomas Allom. Originally produced for the part-work "Northern Tourist" series (London : 1832-1835). Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 106 x 153mm (approx. 4-1/4" x 6"). One tiny spot, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
