Exhaustively illustrated with hundreds of color and b/w photos and drawings. The USS Benfold was commissioned on 30 March, 1996. Building started on 12 October, 1992, in Pascagoula, Mississippi; the destroyer was named after Medal of Honor Winner Edward C. Benfold, built for the USN Pacific fleet, equipped with Aegis Weapons System. States on copyright page 'first printing'. Chapters are: History of Audubon; History of St. Mary's Episcopal Church; History of a hero: Edward C.
