New York, NY: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1947 Good condition with fading on top and bottom of spine and top edge, minor stain on fore edge and bottom edge of text block, owner's name inside, old tape stains on front and back end sheets. Inscribed to Edith, Marda & Wallace and signed by Lewis Mumford. This is a memoir of Lewis' son Geddes who was killed in Italy while serving in the Army during World War II. Wallace Liggett (of the above inscription) was at one point Geddes' roommate at school, read this copy and wrote several marginal comments.
