Jonathan Cape, 1937. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1937. Second Impression. 448 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Illustrated by Violet Brunton in black and white line drawings and colour plates, all present as expected. Small brown stains (approx. 2cm), mild creases, and notable finger smudging to pages on occasion. Slight stains, smudges and pencil marks to endpapers and pastedowns. Pages also slightly tanned and foxed, with more notable foxing to plates. Mild wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with scuffing, brown stains and other marking across the boards. Small splits (approx. 1cm) to spine ends. Heavy sunning to spine and parts of both boards. Slight brown spotting, scratches and a faint pen mark. Boards are moderately bowed. Gilt is faint.
