Shasta Publishers, 1951. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First edition of this collection of previously-published stories (each previously appearing only in periodicals or in collections featuring multiple authors). Black quarter cloth with gilt spine titling, green boards; very good with light edgewear, bumps to bottom fore-edge corners, very slight bump to top fore-edge corner of front panel. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket very good in Mylar with toning, scuffing, edgewear, including minor chipping to spine ends and fore-edge corners. Two tiny stains to textblock fore-edge. Prior owner's name stamped to verso of FFEP. Interior else clean, pages toned, text unmarked.

Synopsis

"The Green Hills of Earth" is a science fiction short story by Robert A. Heinlein, and the title of a song, "The Green Hills of Earth", mentioned in several of his novels. One of his Future History stories, the short story originally appeared in The Saturday Evening Post (February 8, 1947), and it was collected in The Green Hills of Earth (and subsequently in The Past Through Tomorrow).
