About This Item

New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1939. Octavo (21 x 14 cm.), 275 pages. Illustrated with black & white photographs. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, issued the same year as the London edition but lacking the subtitle, "The Story of a London Garden". Another in the long list of charming gardening books by Beverley Nichols. The entire book is given to the landscaping project Nichols undertook after buying a new house in Heathstead, outside London. ~ Publisher's tan cloth. The dust jacket is not price clipped, and not color faded at all. There is a closed tear to the top of the spine, and some other light wear to the corners, otherwise very good.
