In 2012, the brotherhood of Zographou Monastery published the 2nd volume of the Church Slavonic Dictionary, compiled by A. Bonchev. Shortly after the idea of creating a reverse, Greek-Church Slavonic, dictionary matured, and the brotherhood turned to Prof. Christov. Compiling such a dictionary is a long overdue necessity. Priests, theological liturgists and all those who are interested in the history of the liturgical language, which we still use in the church today, need it. Patrologists, dogmatists and historians of philosophy, studying terminological word usages in the field of their interests, also feel the need for such a dictionary. It is also necessary for Slavic linguists. Such a dictionary is also needed for the study of medieval translations from Greek. Often it is not possible to understand the exact meaning of the text without a comparison with the Greek terms being translated.
