These Greek Memories, a memoir of his time in the country, were published in 1932, and quickly sparked outrage for his exposure of secret documents naming agents in the field. London: Cassell,, 1932. Proof copy of the Mackenzie's controversial account of his service in Greece during WWI. Part of an autobiographical sequence, this volume was withdrawn from publication on account of its revelations about the workings and personnel of Britain's wartime intelligence service, and Mackenzie was prosecuted under the Official Secrets Act in a "frequently farcical" trail at the Old Bailey (ODNB). Copies of the briefly published edition are uncommon, a proof copy inevitably the more so. Original printed manilla paper wrappers. Wrappers a little rubbed and soiled, some chipping head and tail of the spine, embossed printer's ticket of Ebenezer Baylis & Son to the front panel, inked initials to the back, mild lean, half title a tad soiled, some dog-earing, pale marginal browning, overall very good.
