The 5-7 ephemeral items laid in give clues to the disposition of some collections after publication, 1967-1976. Articles include a pre-auction article on the Gershenson Collection, Detroit Free Press, 1972 (by Lilian Jackson Braun); an exhibition of Umberto Boccioni’s art, Detroit Free Press, 1967; an article on Christie’s and Sotheby’s auctions with price of “The Beggars’ Brawl” and other items, World, 1973; two copies (one stapled) of article on collector Lydia Winston Malbin moving her modern art collection from Detroit, Detroit Free Press, 1974; two postcards of Ruth Lines art (with bleedthrough from newspapers); article on the Post mansion with “the greatest private collection of Imperial Russian decorative art,” The Flint Journal, 1976; and an exhibit programme of the Lydia and Harry Winston Collection [Lydia Winston Malbin], The Detroit Institue of Arts, 1972 (markings in red ink). Off-white cloth hardcover with gold lettering on spine, folio (31 cm), 304 pp, bw and color photos throughout. Good/Fair: corners bumped with foxing near spine, light musty smell, no markings; DJ has multiple creases and tears, large chip on rear edge, unclipped, later price in ink on front flap.
