Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a library stamp on the front pastedown and an index number on the spine. Book Condition: Good +; pocket and checkout slip on the front endpapers; light shelfwear to head, tail, tips and board bottom edges; slight sunfading to spine; light soiling to boards. No DJ. Blue cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front board. Clean internals. Internal hinges are sound and not split. 191 pp 12mo. The author of this book was an educator and lecturer who spoke on statesmanship and was asked to provide weekly broadcasts on NBC on the Lives of Great Men. His 13 choices, he felt were outstanding leaders of the mind and spirit and aided the onflowing stream of human progress. They were Socrates, Marcus Aurelius, Theodoric the Great, St. Francis of Assisi, Dante, Savonarola, Leonard Da Vinci, Erasmus, Giordano Bruno, Shakespeare, Spinoza, Voltaire, and Benjamin Franklin. A clean very presentable copy.
