Horace Greeley was the founder and editor of the New York Tribune in the 19th century. Robert William's goes so far as to say that Greeley was "probably the best-known American public figure of his day." Greeley in tandem with several authors wrote the book "Great Industries of the United States" as a compendium of illustrated history of the industries in the US including steam engines, sewing and textiles, organ making, arms making, Gold washing in California, railroads, telegraphs, and much more!
This 1872 1st edition published by Burr & Hyde includes over 500 black and white illustrations!
