[Cincinnati]: H.M. Rulso, 1856. 288pp. Frontispiece portrait plus woodcut plates. Original cloth. Head and toe of spine frayed. Scattered fox marks. Overall just about very good. Later edition of this well known Indian biography, which first appeared in 1838. Points the finger at the white man for contributing to the bad relations with Indians and calls for "a more liberal, upright and benevolent course of policy towards [the Indians]." HOWES D459.
