Small octavo, original pictorial stiff brown wrappers, plain brown endpapers. 115 pp. The first separate edition (this edition does not include 'The Inmost Light', which was included in the First Edition of 1894). Spine panel a bit darkened and with reading creases;small effaced area on rear panel; a very good, sound copy in the stunning pictorial boards. A rare book. Goldstone & Sweetser Item 6e.
¶ Contains a new 17-page Introduction by the author written specially for this edition, in which he tells the story of writing and publishing the book and quotes some exquisite "reviews". Originally issued in the Keynotes series by John Lane in 1894. Goldstone & Sweetser state that the New Introduction appears only in this edition.
