New York: Simon & Schuster, 1972. First Edition. First Printing Very good in light blue cloth covered boards with copper colored text and decorations stamping on the front board and on the spine. A small quarto of 9 1/4 by 6 inches with the cloth on the front board and spine faded as well as the copper colored text stamping, the spine has acquired a concave shape and the top edge of the text block is slightly dust stained. There is a prior owner's book plate (Reverend Elden H. Mills) attached to the verso of the first free end page and there are two small notations on pages 472 and 513 pointing out typos in the text and a number of other notations in pencil and in ink, made by a very careful reader. In a good, unclipped dust jacket which is generally tanned and with the upper 1 1/2 inches of the spine area chipped, a tape stain at the upper fore corner of the front panel, a triangular 3/4 inch deep chip at the lower fore corner of the front panel and several short closed tears to the upper edge of the rear panel. Signed and warmly inscribed and dated in the year of publication by the author on the second free end page. "The epic story of the building of the Broooklyn Bridge."
