Quarter-bound in red with dark grey, almost black, boards with an embossed stencil of the man in the gray flannel suit and hat on front. Scarce unclipped ($3.50) dust jacket with chip along top and bottom edges of spine and normal shelf ware consistent with age. Jacket protected with removable mylar cover. Story details a father and husband haunted by his memories of WW II, including a wartime romance that resulted in an illegitimate son he's never seen. National Best Seller made into the award winning film in 1956 starring Gregory Peck, Jennifer Jones, Fredric March, Lee J. Cobb, Keenan Wynn and Marisa Pavan. 5.75x8.5 in. 304 pg.
