Toronto: Knopf, 2005. First Canadian edition, first prnt. Signed by Rice as "Howard Allen O'Brien" on the title page. Illustrated flyer for the booksigning event laid in. Unread copy in Fine condition in a Fine dustjacket with a Durafold mylar cover. "Howard Allen O'Brien" is, of course, Rice's birth name after her father's name Howard O'Brien. Rice disliked the name and began calling herself "Anne" at age six. Biographical accounts differ on which of her parents was responsible for her birth name. One of only two copies signed as such that I know of. First volume in Rice's Christ the Lord series.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hardcovers. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

New York: Viking. F/NF. 1973. 1st Edition. Hardcover; 1st Printing. 1st edition/1st printing, Viking, 1973. 1 of 4000 copies printed in the 1st printing run, and very scarce with no fading to the spine of the 1st issue dustjacket with the $15 price, the code 0273 on the front flap, and the SBN number in white on the back panel. Straight, clean, tight book with the orange upper page edges unblemished and with no handwriting or soiling in the book, with just the usual small touch of softening to the cloth at the spine ends. The Near Fine+ price intact dustjacket is crisp, clean, unfaded, with a short uncreased wrinkle to the upper front panel, but otherwise without fault. Truly a lovely example of this scarce classic! .

Description:
London: Cassell & Company, 1935. First Edition. First edition of Lawrence Durrell's first novel. Highly autobiographical in character, an apprentice effort, Durrell's novel sank largely without trace. And as with so many unsold titles, the majority of copies were destroyed during the Blitz. Blue boards with the barest hint of rubbing to edges; no dustjacket, spine incorrectly lettered Pied Pipers of Lovers, bookseller's price on front free endpaper, slight spotting to fore and top-edges, otherwise a clean, solid, well-preserved copy of Lawrence's exceedingly scarce first novel.

New York, Grove Press, 2022, trade paperback, 272 pp, Advance Uncorrected Proof (ARC), New. Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Cohen explores themes that would permeate his later work, from shame and unworthiness to sexual desire in all its sacred and profane dimensions to longing, whether for love, family, freedom, or transcendence.
