Slipcase has heavy overall wear, tears, chunks missing and soiling.). White boards with red stamped illustrations on front and rear; white title block with black lettering on red cloth spine; color illustrated frontispiece with tissue guard; 10 preliminary leaves, [3]-147, [146] pages, plates, 2 maps (1 color and folded). Issued in red cardboard slipcase, title block on spine. Includes a bookplate inside front cover from Helena Woolworth McCann and Charles E.F. McCAnn. "This book has been designed and printed by the printing house of William Edwin Rudge. Colored map by George Annand. Typography by Melvin Loos. The text is set in Caslon old style and printed on Huntington laid paper. The illustrations are reproduced by the aquatone process. Of an edition of 501 copies this is number 174." Foreword by William V.C. Ruxton and a note by E.A.C. Topham.
