Cleland, who also designed the book and provided the decorations on the color sheets along with Rudolph Ruzicka. Includes a separately-issued portfolio of sheets of cover paper intended to be used with the book to provide examples of a wide combination of colors. It is very difficult to find this excellent example of American design work with the separate sheets. The separately issued specimen sheets (number 20 to 46) are loosely inserted in the back and the paper folder that was issued to keep them together is not present. Covers soiled and spotted with rubbing along edges. Name in ink on front cover. Back inside hinge cracked from the inserted extra specimens.
