A little foxing to edges, else Fine in unclipped dust jacket with vertical crease along spine panel, else Near Fine with small tear near head, a little rubbing. The first book appearance of Hilton's novel about beloved schoolteacher Mr. Chipping, preceding the British edition, which was illustrated. The basis of films in 1939 and 1969.
