London: Hodder & Stoughton, c1910. Cloth. Very Good. 10" by 7.5". Sidney H. Meteyard. A beautifully illustrated edition of Longfellow's poem The Golden Legend with colour chromolithographs. Beautiful edition of The Golden Legend by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in the original publisher's decorative cloth binding. Illustrated with twenty five colour chromolithographs with tissue guards by Sidney Meteyard. Collated, complete. Meteyard was an English painter and stained glass designer. Longfellow was a nineteenth century American poet best known for his works 'Paul Revere's Ride' and 'Evangeline'. With gilt to the front board and spine. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The hinges are slightly strained. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. The tissue guards are present and intact. Very Good
