Corners bumped, wear to edges. With bookplate of actress Elsie Leslie Lyde, and "Elsie L. Winter" stamped in gilt on upper cover. Tipped in is an original letter from Henry Longfellow to critic and author William Winter, father of Elsie's husband,. Elsie Leslie (August 14, 1881 - October 31, 1966) was America's first child star and the highest paid and most popular child actress of her era. BAL 12102.
