About This Item
New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1919. Book. Illus. by George W. Hood (dust jacket, frontispiece). Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. The author of the classic 'Beautiful Joe' presents another animal story, this one "the story of a valiant little canary and the other pets belonging to a delightful family of animal lovers." Juniper cloth w/tipped-on illustration (same illustration as dust jacket and frontispiece), gilt spine lettering, 280 pages. A bit cocked, moderately worn corners/spine ends, back cover cloth a bit scuffed, dusty/tanned/lightly soiled edges, previous owner's name/address to front end paper, in edgeworn dust jacket w/scrapes to folds, longish tears to folds, large chunks from top and bottom spine, creasing, short edge tears -- all in all a jacket that has suffered enough, and is now ensconced in a protective mylar sleeve..
