Sterling condition hardcover copy but for a black remainder mark along the bottom edge, now whited-out, now faint, with unbruised tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Quite handsomely bound in brown linen cloth over boards, sharply and distinctly stamped in gilt lettering to cover and spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. Illustrated endpapers, being a map of Belgium, Holland and Germany. Massively heavy, oversized volume. [8], 9-536 pp. Well over 1000 illustrations, including 74 in full color, printed on high-gloss paper. Well over 400 Dutch artists are represented here. Lavishly produced, learned, accessible, and with an extensive bibliography and index of artists. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
