In 566 pages with Index, photo frontispiece. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1948, this hardcover 8vo has matte black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering inside a red title box to spine. Condition is VG+: very clean & completely unmarked, but with slight bleeding of the black dye from the boards at bottom page edges & a thin line of dampstaining here to some page edges. Binding is strong & straight, pages moderately tanned. The unclipped DJ (with $4.00 price intact to front flap) is Good+, with significant rubbing to extremities, creasing, & few chips & short tears, but no fading; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover Free!
