Illustrated by 3 steel fashion plates with 6 figures (two color), 8 full page descriptions of fashions (34 figures), two additional steel plates "Our Daisey" (cherub baby) and port, color plate of folding screen, 16 pages of illustrated period ads, sheet music (Marquis et Marquis by Morley). First edition. Stitched wraps, yellow printed cover. 32mo (12cm). pp. iv (ads), [13] plates, 328-393, v-xvi (ads continued. Near Fine. Tiny chip and tear to cover rear, front straightened corner curls, internally unread copy. The rare Bijou Edition was a sample issue in miniature measuring 4-5/8 by 3-inches...a queen of a mini for "the queen of the monthlies". Published by Louis A. Godey for 48 years (1830-78) when he sold the magazine in 1877 (a year before his death) to John Hill Seyes Haulenbeek who published the magazine for 20 additional years with the original title.
