Emerald green cloth boards with full color pastedown illustration of The Gnome King and his treasure to front. Black title and gnome head to spine. Publisher's yellow to edges. Light rubbing to extremities. A couple of wrinkles to cover pictorial. Top corners lightly nudged. Black and white pictorial endpapers. Bookseller's sticker to rear pastedown. Front hinge tender. Unmarked interior. Protected in mylar.
Supplied dustjacket from later printing: dustjacket rear flap lists to #36 (Mimics in Oz, 1951). Several small closed tears and creases to dustjacket edges; chips to top and bottom of spine and to corners. Age-toning to dustjacket.
