About This Item
Chicago: The Reilly & Lee Co, 1927. Hardcover. Illustrations by John R. Neill. Small 4to. Green cloth with black spine lettering and large color plate to front board. 282pp. Color frontispiece, 11 color full-page plates, numerous black and white line drawings, black and white pictorial endpapers. Very good. Mild binding edgewear and rubbing; endpapers a bit age toned; faint ownership signature barely discernible on "This Book Belongs to" leaf; half-title page bears inoffensive diagonal fold and 3/8" chip 3½" long along lower edge. Tight and nice first edition, with all proper points, of the 21st "Oz" title and the 7th by Baum successor Thompson. The color plates are all bright and spectacular, the text block near fine. HANFF 94.
