In the original publisher's illustrated dustjacket. The dustjacket has a little creasing/rubbing to the very edges and a crumpled repaired tear on the rear d/j cover, but the d/j is complete and looks VG. The d/j is Not price clipped. The page fore-edges are VERY slightly foxed to the top edge. A small 'Foyles' bookshop sticker under the d/j on the bottom corner of the front pastedown, o/w No Inscriptions or Marks. At the beginning of the book is 'A Diary of the Great War ' (A Timeline). (xv) + 113 pp. Illustrated in b/w. 3 Maps in b/w (one folding). Appendix - 'Facts and figures of the War'; Bibliography; Index. A Very Clean, Tight and Bright Near 'Fine' copy. " A look at the First World War through the eyes of the men who were there but specifically this is a book about the Great War as seen through the eyes of Gilbert Hall, a working man who became an amateur soldier in 1914 but who ended the war as an officer and a ‘professional’.
