Expected library inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Moderate tanning to pages with pen inscriptions to front endpaper and heavier tanning to text block edges. Both hinges are cracked with exposed netting and cracks to guttering with exposed netting. Binding is loose. Boards have visible rubbing and noticeable bumping to corners. Fair crushing to spine ends and visible rubbing to spine.

London: S. W. Partridge. Bright green cloth covers with black decoration and bright gold title on cover and spine. Light edge wear, cover corners bumped, number and foxing on end papers, hinges cracked, pages bright and very good. . Good +. Hardcover. 1888.

Clean except for a number penned on the front fixed endpaper; no other owners' marks; front hinge starting, a few small edge creases in page margins, thin lines of finish loss scattered over all panels, small bumps at bottom free corners and points of cloth wear with a few loose threads at corners and spine ends, yet overall this green cloth hardcover is clean and attractive, with bright gilt lettering at front and spine. 232pp.; b/w engr.; undated, ca. 1890.; 12mo.

S. W. Partridge., 1888. Hardback; undated, the date from library records. The blue cloth binding has some light wear and is fading a little, there is a paper label on the spine. The endpapers have an owner's bookplate. The text is clean and crisp throughout.
