1934. Early days in Madison County, Kentucky, are recalled in this new 89-page book titled: Madison County, Kentucky, USA The spiral-bound book is a compiled from three hard to find sources: the 1934 book, A Glimpse at Historic Madison County and Richmond, Kentucky by Jonathan Truman Dorris, plus excerpts from Kentucky, a Guide to the Bluegrass State, a 1939 product of the WPA Writer's Program, and History of Kentucky by Z.F. Smith, originally published in 1895. The tri-color front cover is printed on 80# card stock and has been protected with a vinyl sheet. The text is printed single-sided on 60# opaque paper, with the print enlarged to fit the 8.5" x 11" paper and improve readability. Daniel Boone is "the most famous pioneer connected with the history of Madison County." Much of his history and many of his exploits are included, especially those relating to the fort at Boonesborough, along with various memorials in his honor.
