N.D.. Hardcover. Circa 1880s. Richly decorated red beveled cloth binding stamped in black, gilt, and in blind. Front cover pointed oval deep inset with glossy, enamel-like inset decoration of angel with lyre in navy, ivory, and gold. All edges gilt. xvi, 544 pp, index. Four steel engravings, including frontispiece. Engraved borders on each page of sixteen different landscape (and even an underwater seascape) scenes variously printed in red, green, blue, purple, and black. A clean, tight, sumptuous Victorian gift binding containing poetry by all the faves of the day: Mrs. Hemans, Thomas Hood, the Brownings, Keats, Shelley, Lord Byron, Leigh Hunt, Walter Scott, Robbie Burns, Southey, Wordsworth, et al. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
