Hartford, Connecicut: A. O. Worthington & Co.. Good with no dust jacket. 1875. First Edition. Hardcover. Beautifull decorated hardcover, covers completely covered in gilt design of spray of flowers with ivy borders and tassles. Gilt lettering. Spine also completely decorated in gilt with flowers, ferns and lettering. Gold page edges all around. Covers have wear on edges and bumped corners. Crack in cover covering at hinge where it joins the spine about 2 inches up from bottom of spine. Embossed border design on back cover as well as a embossed emblem for "possum et sursum" Beautifully designed pretittle page with engraving of flowers and bordered by gold. Quote in the illustration is " I have here only made nosegay of culled flowers and have brought nothing of my own but the string that ties them" From the Harvest-Fields of Literature. A melange of excerpta, collated by C. C. Bombaugh. with stell-plate portrait. Author's unabridged edition ( first series). Published by subscription only. 1875. All pages have red borders framing them. Inside pages are fine. Covers good + condition. A very attractive edition.; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall .
