London: Williams and Norgate, Ltd., 1925. First Edition. . Hardcover. Good/-. Foreword by W.L. George. Book is an autobiographical "low life" narrative of a "girl wretched from birth" in England. Red cloth with gilt titling and simple border on spine, gilt titling and blindstamped simple border on front, blindstamped publisher's insignia on back, leading text block edge is untrimmed (a few pages have ragged edges from being improperly cut by hand) 223 pages. Corners bumped, spine is age-darkened and slightly cocked, a few faint smudges on front and back but cover is generally clean and bright, text block edges are darkened and have foxing spots, end papers foxed, previous ownsers bookplate inside front cover, see previous note concerning ragged edges on a few pages, text is basically clean and tight. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg. Additional charges will apply for heavier shipments, but not until the customer agrees.
