New York: Harper & Brothers, 1915. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No dust jacket. Volume 2 : The Gilded Age : A Tale of To-day. 1915 Harper edition in green cloth. There is an organization stamp marked out on the opposite side of the frontispiece. The covers look great except for light soiling and edge wear. The binding is tight. Tanning is seen on the edges, paste-downs and front end pages. Small black ink stains on the inside of the covers and the end pages. The interior pages are clean and unmarked. These are the authorized uniform editions (same size). Three-quarter deep red bindings (pebble-finish), frontispiece and illustrations by W.T. Smedley, total 710 pages. Includes "Translations of Chapter-Head Mottoes" by J. Hammond Trumbull at end of each volume (helps describe the text in specific chapters). Condition of bindings: Lightly age darken, scattered stains; some shelf wear (mostly at backstrips/spine). Interior: Text clear and readable, illustrations vivid. Overall: Very Good condition. Books kept in a temperature-controlled room; there are no smoke smells from cigarettes or cigars.
