Original brown cloth, spine gilt stamped; front board gilt and blind stamped; rear board blind stamped. Severe wear to cloth along edges with loss; cloth torn along front joist which has caused the spine to be almost detached. Solf w.a.f. Contains illustration on page 403 and publisher's advertisements. (Subject: Modern First.)

Synopsis

This novel focuses on the corruption and big business ventures of post-Civil War America. A biting satire, this novel gave the era it's name in history: The Gilded Age.
