Green cloth-covered boards, light blue titles on spine. Lightly bumped spine ends and front corners. Cocked. Tanning free endpapers. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has significant loss on spine and rear. Closed tears including on 5cm top outer edge. Price unclipped. 12mo. Describes the ancient customs and ceremonies which mark the historical continuity of life in the great capital - the bell ringers who have been ringing the bells of St. Paul's since the reign of Charles II ; the last night watchman who calls the hours ; the ancient Lambeth Dole ; the Hornblower of the Temple ; the Bank Guard, and many other ghosts of London's past.
