About This Item

NY: Storm Publishers, 1948. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition (?).. The author provides a well-researched narrative about the attitudes of the western nations regarding the German people post World War I and World War II. Not defending the atrocities of either War but pointing out the very fact that the German people were also casualties of these conflicts. Many innocents were punished for actions they had no part in because of the wars and were judged as guilty as the leadership that had led their governments into these wars. The author's message identifies the other players in history that played a part in the conflicts but were not identified as being complicit in the conflicts themselves. Rather these players were reflected as having a softer, gentler role in these world events. The author, a naturalized American born in Magdeburg, Germany grew up during the last years of World War I and vividly recounts the deprivations experienced by the German people. He has offered 180 pages of why the German people were the victims in these wars just as the citizenry of surrounding countries. Used - Very Good. Hardcover. Text is unmarked, though the pages and especially the page edges are age toned. Binding is sturdy. Boards show very slight edgewear. Binding.is tight. Front and back endpapers reflect Ex Libris stamps in blue commemorating a memorial gifting of the book. . Images available upon request. .
