New Ulm: ODHS, mfg. by Whitehead and Hoag in Newark, NJ, n.d.. Dangling pendant suspended from a yellow ribbon attached at the top, six inches long including tassels. The black ribbon used for backing is an "In Memoriam" issue from the same branch. Paper label on the interior between the two strips of cloth gives patent application dates in the 1890s. No pin or other attachment at the top. The Order of the Sons of Hermann was founded in 1840 as a mutual aid society for German immigrants.
