Germany Philatelic Society, 1991. first printing. Softcover. Fine. Gray wraps, 125 pages, 9-in tall. An account of the mail carried by the German submarine Deutschland between the United States and Germany during 1916. The Deutschland was an unarmed, blockade-breaking, cargo submarine until 1917, when it was outfitted with torpedos and ceased being a cargo submarine. Many photographs of cancels, censor marks, insurance stamps, etc. Also many postcard images of the Deutschland.
