About This Item
London: Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1954. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A SCARCE copy of this firsthand account of the Wehrmacht's Secret Service during WWII. Stated second impression. This is a relatively clean copy with only some underlining throughout the first portions of the text and an inscription on the upper right corner of the front free endpaper. No bookplates, no remainder marks, and not an ex-library copy. Spine is tight and crisp, and the pages are only slightly browned. Boards are flat and true, and the corners are square. Dust jacket is not clipped but shows substantial wear, especially to the upper edge. This wear includes scuffing to the back cover, microtears to the lower edge, and some "tattering" of the upper edge that extends for about 1/2" into the cover. There is also a 1" tear on the upper edge of the back cover. That being said, the cover remains intact and desirable. This collectible, very good/good +, first edition/second printing copy is protected with an archival mylar dust jacket cover. Satisfaction guaranteed!
