"The Turn Generation" it not only takes this name for the beginning of a new millennium but for the freedom with which it transits inside and outside of the market and the institutions. Com curadoria de Agnaldo Farias (Instituto Tomie Ohtake, São Paulo) e Moacir dos Anjos (Museu de Arte Moderna Aluísio Magalhães, Recife), o Instituto Tomie Ohtake apresentou durante o período da Bienal Internacional de São Paulo, uma exposição reunindo cerca de 60 artistas surgidos nos últimos dez anos no cenário da arte contemporânea brasileira. A "geração da virada" leva esse nome não só por haver surgido na passagem do século e do milênio com também pela liberdade com que transita dentro e fora do mercado e das instituições. São artistas que agem tanto individual como coletivamente, usam e abusam das mídias mais variadas, fundindo-as umas às outras ou retomam expressões clássicas, como a pintura, para reinventá-las.
