All volumes are first editions with Scribner's A on copyright page. A few scattered light pencil notations throughout the work. Volume I: Young Washington. xxvi 549pp. 1948. Small stain to front cover. Volume II: Young Washington. vii 464pp. 1948. Volume III: Planter and Patriot. xxxviii 600pp. 1951. Volume IV: Leader of the Revolution. viii 736pp. 1951. Slipcase partially cracked at one angle. Volume V: Victory with the help of France. xvi 570pp. 1952. Volume VI: Patriot and President. xlv 529pp. 1954. Volume VII: First in Peace March 1793 - December 1799. By Carroll and Ashworth, completing the biography. First edition. xxiv 729 pp. 1957. Black cloth in dust jacket. Small closed tear to jacket. Probably the most ambitious study of Washington ever undertaken.
