London: Allen Lane. 1974. First edition. First edition. Inscribed by the author. Publisher's original brown cloth with gilt titles to the spine. In dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and tight, the spine tips only the slightest bit bumped. The contents are bright and clean throughout and free of previous owner's stamps and inscriptions. Complete with the attractive lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper. Not price-clipped (£2.50 to lower front flap). A superb association copy inscribed by the author to the poet Mairi Macinnes and her literary critic husband John McCormick in blue ink to the front free endpaper, reading "For Mairi and John / From Nina with love".
