Self published, London, undated. First Edition. Hardcover (Full Leather). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. A HUMORIST PHYSICIAN (Richard Cobbold). Geoffrey Gambado; Or, A Simple Remedy for Hypochondriacism and Melancholy Splenetic Humours: London: self-published, undated (mid- 1800s). Thin octavo, pp. 115, red morocco boards, tipped in illustrations by the caricaturist Henry Bunbury, hand colored (most just splashed with pink wash), former owner's name on free front endpaper, dated 1890. Scarce; Worldcat locates only 6 copies, and suggests a publication date of 1865. Cobbold built humorous stories around the illustrations; Bunbury was long dead by the time this was published. Condition of this book: Spine amateurishly repaired with tape. Covers have a few stains, inside clean. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Front board is detached. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Available: 1.
